How to Make a Christmas Evergreen Garland
An evergreen garland brings the scent and texture of Christmas into your home. Gather trimmings from your property or buy them from a Christmas tree farm or local home store, wire them together and hang the garland over your mantle, wrap it around your banister or outline a door with Christmas green. Gather a wheelbarrow or wagon-load of evergreen trimmings. The more you gather, the longer and fuller a garland you can make. If you have evergreen trees on your property, trim some there. Christmas tree farms and home stores often sell trimmings as well.

Cut twine to desired garland length, plus 12 inches. Lay one branch flat on top of twine and wire in place. Place next branch overlapping the first and wire in place. Continue adding branches, overlapping and wiring. Strive to make the garland a uniform fullness by filling in sparse areas with smaller branches.

Weave wide velvet ribbon through the garland, gluing or wiring in place as needed. Hot glue pine cones between the garland branches.

Hang your garland by wiring it to nails or over a banister.
