Instructions for Barn Popsicle Sticks
You can use Popsicle or craft sticks in a variety of different crafts projects. For example, use Popsicle sticks to construct a barn structure, which you can display for an art, history or architectural project in school. In order to successfully make a barn from Popsicle sticks, follow a few guidelines to ensure that the structure will resemble a barn and remain intact.
Things You'll Need
- Cardboard
- Scissors
- Hot-glue gun
- Hot-glue stick
- Popsicle or craft sticks
Instructions
-
-
1
Place a 12-inch square of cardboard onto a tabletop.
-
2
Insert a hot glue stick into a hot-glue gun and plug in to heat up for 5 minutes.
-
-
3
Hot-glue two Popsicle sticks flat, end-to-end, and horizontally along one edge of the cardboard. Allow the hot glue to cool and harden completely.
-
4
Hot-glue another Popsicle stick flat, perpendicular at the end of one of the first two. Allow the hot glue to cool and harden completely.
-
5
Hot-glue two more Popsicle sticks perpendicular to the last one, arranging them end-to-end as previously. Allow the hot glue to cool and harden completely.
-
6
Hot-glue another Popsicle stick at the end of the form to complete a rectangle to form the base of the barn. Allow the hot glue to cool and harden completely.
-
7
Hot-glue another round of Popsicle sticks in the same manner as before, only stand them up onto one side. Allow the hot glue to cool and harden completely.
-
8
Continue adding layers of Popsicle sticks in this manner until you have a barn structure that is 6 inches high.
-
9
Cut out two triangles from cardboard that measure 6 inches long, 3 inches wide and 3 inches high.
-
10
Hot-glue the 6-inch sides of the triangles onto the top of each of the short sides. Allow the hot glue to cool and harden completely.
-
11
Apply a line of hot glue down the top length of both long sides and onto the peaks of the triangles.
-
12
Lay Popsicle sticks against the form vertically, allowing them to rest against each other at the peak. Allow the hot glue to cool and harden completely before displaying the Popsicle stick barn.
