How to Troubleshoot "Worms 4: Mayhem" for PC

The game, Worms 4: Mayhem, was released in 2005 for Windows XP. Unfortunately for Windows 7 users, some games for Windows XP may have trouble working correctly under Microsoft's newest operating system, as of December 2010. If Worms 4: Mayhem is not running, or you are having difficulty getting online, there are a few troubleshooting techniques you can try.

      Download and install "Service Patch 1" from the Worms 4: Mayhem website if you are outside of the United States. All U.S. copies of Worms 4: Mayhem come with the patch already installed.

      Forward the TCP and UDP ports on your firewall. Consult your firewall documentation on how to forward ports as every firewall is different. The correct ports to forward are:

      TCP 80 (outgoing data only)

      TCP 5911

      TCP 6667

      TCP 28900

      TCP 29900

      TCP 29901

      UDP 5911

      UDP 6500

      UDP 13139

      UDP 27900

      Right-click the "Worms 4: Mayhem" shortcut on your desktop. Select "Properties." Select "Compatibility." Click the box next to "Run This Program In Compatibility Mode For." Select "Windows XP (Service Pack 2)" from the drop-down menu.

      Click the box next to "Run This Program As An Administrator." Click "OK" to save all changes.
