How to Calculate Food Stamp Allotments in Georgia
Low-income families in Georgia can receive food stamps to help purchase food each month. The benefits can be used at authorized retailers such as supermarkets and grocery stores. Prior to applying for food stamps, you can calculate how much you might receive if you qualify for assistance. In Georgia, the average food stamp allotment is $236 per month. The Georgia Division of Family and Children Services provides an online tool that can be used without entering personal information such as Social Security numbers and names.
