Disabling the rear alarm on your 2010 Ford F-350 is easy with a push of a button.

The 2010 Ford F-350 is a heavy-duty vehicle. Built to haul and withstand the elements, a feature of this truck often presents an issue with Ford owners. The "Rear Alarm, Parking Aid, or Reverse Sensing System" triggers a series of beeps whenever in reverse, or the vehicle's rear bumper is obstructed or in danger of collision. However, snow, rain, trailer hitches, or any harmless obstruction on the back of the vehicle may cause the alarm to sound. If you need a way to disable the RSS on your 2010 Ford F-350, there is a simple solution.

Instructions

    • 1

Put your gear to reverse after turning your vehicle on. Immediately, the reverse sensing system should sound. The information is found on pages 25 to 26 of the 2010 Ford F-350 Manual.

    • 2

Check your message center on the center dash. There will be an option flashing to "Select/Reset" stem to turn the feature on or off.

    • 3

Choose to either reset for all occasions or just when reversing. If you tire of hearing the beeping noise every time you back up, then you can turn the sound off permanently.

    • 4

Press the "Select/Reset" stem to finish the setup menu or wait for more than four seconds to return to the main menu. You have now disabled your rear alarm.
