Google Maps is a great resource for travelers.

Google Maps is a useful resource when preparing for a long trip or a visit to a new part of town. Destinations can be mapped from point A to point B. Users can add additional stops to their maps as well. As of late 2010, Google Maps does not have a "save to .pdf file" feature but there are ways to create a pdf file from a Google map.

Instructions

    • 1

Launch a web browser and go to Google Maps. Select "Get Directions" at the top left-hand side of the screen and enter the starting and ending addresses. Click on "Get Directions." View the map and text directions.

    • 2

Capture a screen shot. Hold down "Ctrl" amd "PrtSc" to capture the web page image. Open Word and paste the screen shot into the document by pressing the "Ctrl" + "V" keys.

    • 3

Select "Save" and name the file. The "Save as type" should read "PDF File (*.pdf)." Use the drop-down menu to select PDF as the type of file. Then hit "Save" to save the file as a .pdf. To print, click on the print icon at the top of the screen.
