How to Get GED Results Fast

How to Get GED Results Fast thumbnail
Getting GED test results quickly is a simple process.

Obtaining your GED scores in a timely fashion is important for many reasons. You may need your scores for college or job applications, or perhaps you are impatient and want to see if you passed. If you did not pass certain or all sections of the GED exam, you will want to apply for a re-test as soon as possible.

Each testing site may have different policies regarding testing and test scores, so check with your testing site for any additional instructions.

Instructions

    • 1

Enter the access code you received from the GED testing site on GED's 123.org website to obtain your GED scores. If you don't have the access code, you can log in to your account using an email address and a password. Scores are usually made available within a week after you took the test.

    • 2

Log in to GED Wizard using your first and last name and date of birth. Or enter the email address and password you used when taking your GED exam. You will be able to obtain your GED scores using this website only if you live in or took the exam in the following states: Alaska, Michigan, Minnesota, Montana, North Dakota, Nebraska, Nevada, New Mexico, North Carolina, Oklahoma, South Carolina, Wisconsin or West Virginia.

    • 3

Call the testing center where you took your exam. You may be able to obtain your scores directly from the person on the phone, or you may need to mail in a formal request. A formal request involves writing and signing a letter asking for a copy of your GED scores.

    • 4

You will need to fill out a transcript request form if you took your GED while in the military. ACE's website has the form for you to fill out. You will need your identifying information, along with the location and year of your GED test. A $14.00 fee (as of December 2010) is required to receive your transcript and score.

Tips & Warnings

  • Be sure to fill out all the necessary paperwork, complete all the testing forms and pay your fees to avoid any delays in receiving your GED test results.

  • Have an employer or education adviser call for your scores. They may have more influence in getting the scores quickly.
