How to Create a Printable Invoice
Invoices are important documents that record goods and services that are sold to customers and clients. Invoices typically have a letterhead, a title including the word "invoice," an invoice number and the information of your client. You can make these documents easily in a word-processing program and then print them.

Open your word-processing software and create a new document.

Write your company's information and align it at the top of the page. This should include your company's name, address and phone number.

In the top left corner, create a small two row table with the title "Invoice" in a large, bold font. Divide the second row into two cells and title them "Date:" and "Invoice Number:" Allow space for this information to be filled in.

Skip a few lines and provide space for the shipping information. Devote a few lines for "Shipped To:" and "Sold To:" information.

Insert a five-column table with enough rows to reach the bottom of the page. Title the first column "Quantity," the second "Quantity Shipped," the third "Description," the fourth "Unit Price" and the final column "Extension."

Underneath the fifth column, write "Total" and leave a space for a total to be added.

Print your document by selecting "File" and "Print." You can choose how many copies you would like to print. Save your invoice for further use.

Tips & Warnings
Be sure to add lines for "Subtotal" and "Taxes."
Change the invoice as necessary to show services rendered, parts and labor, or anything else instead of quantity, quantity shipped, etc.
