Remove the knife from the package and remove any strings or rubber bands holding the knife blade down. Locate the thumb stud on the blade near where it connects to the hilt. Push the thumb stud lightly out and up, until the blade locks into the ready position.

2
Push the dull, back edge of the blade back down and towards the hilt to put the blade away. Locate the safety switch on the hilt, just under where it connects to the blade. Use your thumb to push it up towards the blade so that red is showing.

Press the large black section of the hilt, which is also used as the grip; this will cause the blade to spring out. Return the blade to the hilt casing by pressing down on the dull end of the bottom of the blade. Push the safety switch back down so that no red is showing, in order to lock the spring blade function.

Tips & Warnings
Keep the safety switch on at all times, as it would be possible for someone unfamiliar with the knife to hurt themselves on the spring-loaded blade after accidentally causing its release.
