New York City is home to millions of residents. Finding a person in the city can seem overwhelming. Using the Internet, there are a variety of tools you can use to locate people in New York City. To use these tools you must know basic information such as their full name, age or phone number. Most services are free while some services cost a monthly or per-use fee.

Instructions

1. Use a social network to locate someone in New York City. Facebook, MySpace and Twitter allow you to search for a person by full name, email address, location and even company. Peruse pictures and locate the person by sight. You can add the person as a friend to chat or send the individual a message to chat.

2. Use City Search to find the person you wish to contact in New York City. Type the person's name in the first box and New York City in the second. Click search and peruse the search results.

3. Type your friend or family's name in the WhoWhere? search engine. Type the first name and last name in the designated boxes as well as the city and zip code. Click search and all results will appear on the screen.
