How to Batch Reduce Files in Photoshop

It sometimes is necessary to resize several photographs so they all fit the same frame or are the same size on a website. In these situations, it can be tedious to manually go through each photo and resize it. Photoshop can reduce the sizes of multiple images automatically. This allows you to reduce image sizes more quickly and with less of a hassle.

Instructions

    • 1

Place all of the photos you want to resize into a single folder.

    • 2

Click the "Photoshop" icon to open Photoshop.

    • 3

Select "Ctrl" + "O" to open an image.

    • 4

Navigate to the folder that contains the images you want to reduce. Open the folder and click on an image.

    • 5

Click the "Windows" menu and select "Actions."

    • 6

Click the "Create New Action" icon at the bottom of the "Actions" palette that appears.

    • 9

Enter the new sizes you want in the "Width," "Height" and "Resolution" boxes.

Click to choose "Folder" from the drop-down menu next to "Source."

    • 15

Click "Choose" and navigate to the folder which includes the images you want to reduce in size. Click the folder.
