How to Tape Off of DirecTv
You can record your favorite DirecTV programs to a DVR format. You can also record programs to a VCR tape. You will need to have composite audio/video cables to make the required connections between the VCR, DirecTV receiver and television. These cables are color-coded as red, yellow and white on the cables and the jacks on your devices.

Insert one end of the first audio/video cable in the output jacks on the DirecTV receiver. Be sure to insert each color cord into the matching color jack.
