How to Change the Maps for "Vice City"

In 2002, Rockstar released the crime adventure game called "Grand Theft Auto: Vice City." Like other "Grand Theft Auto" games, you start the game with a limited area you can freely access, but completing certain missions will unlock other parts of the map. Unlike the other games, there is only one other island you have to unlock. By completing "The Fastest Boat," you unlock the second island, changing the map to show this new accessibility.

Instructions

    • 1

Travel to the "D" icon on your map. The fastest way to get there is to drive. Walk into the circle in front of Diaz's mansion and wait for the cutscene to complete.

    • 2

Walk around Diaz's mansion to the dockyard and enter the only speedboat parked there. The button you press varies depending on what system you play the game on.

    • 3

Drive the boat to the yellow marker on your map. When you reach the checkpoint, immediately get into a nearby vehicle; you will be attacked on sight. Drive over any nearby gunmen.

    • 4

Leave the vehicle and enter the warehouse by the marked boat you must steal. Walk into the pink circle, triggering a cutscene that shows you dropping the speedboat into the water.

    • 5

Run to the boat, ignoring the new gunmen that appear. Enter the boat and drive toward the marker on the map, ignoring any nearby coast guard boats. Completing this mission gives you $4,000 and changes the map to show both islands open.
