How to Change a Steering Wheel on a 1994 Camaro

The steering wheel on a 1994 Chevy Camaro is secured to the steering column by two bolts on each side of the wheel.       Loosen the securing clamps on the both battery cables. Remove the negative cable and then the positive cable from the battery. Use the corresponding size box wrench for this step.

      Sit in the driver set and insert the steering wheel tool into the small hole on the right side of the steering wheel. Turn the tool in either direction until it unlocks. Repeat for the opposite side.

      Pull the steering wheel off of the frame. Unplug the wire harness from the rear of the steering wheel.

      Plug the wire harness into the rear of the new steering wheel. Place the steering wheel onto the frame and push it until you hear that the locks snap into place. Reconnect the battery and close the hood.
