With Microsoft Excel, you can readily share information for any project with other online users.

Excel is one of the main components of the Microsoft Office application suite. This powerful software allows users to manage, evaluate and share information in various ways. Excel has analysis and visual image tools that let users track and highlight valuable data and distribute this important data to other online corroborators. This program is not limited to producing financial reports or processing of personal expenditures, but it gives users more flexibility to perform their office tasks and other company projects.

Instructions

    • 1

Retrieve the information you plan to edit with Microsoft Excel such as ID3 tags for your MP3 collection or any other available data compilation. It could be the song name, artist or album information and the genre of your music.

    • 2

Use an ID3 tag editor like the powerful Ultra Tag Editor application to collect all the data for your MP3 compilation. With this program, you can export your ID3 tags to Microsoft Excel for editing. This is simply done by exporting your tags in Excel spreadsheet (XLS) format.

    • 3

Open the exported MP3 data compilation and identify which information requires changes. Organize your file by sorting the ID3 tags. Select a range of data on your spreadsheet, such as A1:J7 (multiple rows and columns) or B1:B77 (a single column). You may include the titles that you use to identify the rows and columns for your ID3 tags.

    • 4

Click the columns you will be sorting by clicking the "Sort" command in the "Sort & Filter" group on the "Data" tab. When the sort dialog box appears, select the first column on which you want to sort in the Sort by list. You may then choose either Values, Cell Color, Cell Icon or Font Color. You have the option to change just about anything on your exported file in Excel.

    • 5

Click any cell in the worksheet and edit the existing data as you please. You may change the ID3 tags and assign your own labels or titles. After you are done editing your tags, you may save all changes by simply going to "File, Save" or "Save As" if you wish to rename your compilation.

Tips & Warnings
