How to Register a Rewards Card

Register your rewards card before you go shopping.

Rewards cards -- whether from a credit card company, supermarket, a warehouse store or a specialty store -- offer customers savings on various products and services. Registering ties your purchases directly to an account and lets stores give you targeted deals via mail or email. Some rewards programs require you to register your card before using it. You can get a rewards card at the store that offers it, but registration usually must be completed online.

Instructions

1. Look at the back of the rewards card to see if it lists the rewards center's website. If it isn't there, call the customer service number on the back of the card or contact the organization that issued the card and ask for the web address for card registration.

2. Navigate to the website. Select the option to register the card.

3. Enter required information, which may include your name, address, phone number and email address.

4. Enter your card information. You may have to enter the numbers, the security code or which store location issued the card to you.

5. Answer any additional questions. Submit the application.
