How to Load ATVs on a Trailer

Loading ATVs onto a tow trailer correctly is one of the most important things an ATV owner can know. No matter the ATV model or trailer, the loading and securing process is the same. Proper balance is required to ensure that the trailer has an even load. The handlebars and rear axle on each ATV are the securing points.

Instructions

    • 1

Back the tow vehicle to the connector arm on the trailer. Connect the trailer to the tow hitch and lock it using the snap lock on the trailer connector arm.

    • 2

Place the load ramps on the rear edge of the trailer wheel length apart. Drive one ATV onto the trailer as close to the side rail as possible.

    • 3

Adjust the ramps and drive another ATV onto the trailer on the opposite side. If there are more ATVs, drive them onto the trailer so you have two lines of ATVs.

    • 4

Load the ramps into the trailer. Connect one strap to each handlebar on one of the ATVs. Connect the opposite end of the straps to the anchor points on the trailer floor. Tighten the straps until the front shocks compress.

    • 5

Connect one strap to each side of the rear axle. Connect the opposite ends of the straps to the anchor points on the trailer floor. Tighten the straps and repeat for the other ATVs.
