How to Connect the Garmin GPS When There Is No Driver

To update the Garmin GPS with new maps, firmware or software, you will need to plug the device into the computer. When you connect the Garmin GPS, Windows Explorer should automatically search for and install drivers. If Windows is unable to download the necessary drivers, it won't recognize the device and the Garmin won't show up in your Computer/My Computer folder as a connected drive. You can download the drivers and install them yourself. Once you have installed the drivers, Windows will recognize the device.
