DIY RF Switch

DIY RF Switch thumbnail
You can use coaxial splitters to connect multiple devices to a port.

Coaxial cables are generally used to transfer the cable signal from a cable outlet to any devices that may receive coaxial signals. If you wish to connect one coaxial port to multiple devices, you can do so by creating a makeshift RF switch out of multiple cable splitters. As long as you have enough splitters, you can accomplish this easily.

Instructions

    • 1

Connect one end of your first coaxial cable to your coaxial wall port. Connect the other end of this cable to the input port on your first RF splitter.

    • 2

Connect two more coaxial cables to the output ports on your first splitter. Connect the other end of both cables to the output ports on your second and third splitters.

    • 3

Connect four coaxial cables to the output ports on the second and third splitters. You now have four coaxial ports extending from the original wall port.

    • 4

Test your makeshift switch by connecting the coaxial cables extending from the second and third splitters to any coaxial devices.
