How to Tuck Ribbon Into a Christmas Tree From Top to Bottom
Decorating a Christmas tree with ribbon is done by tucking the ribbon into the branches in a downward spiral. Ribbon is installed using a 5-foot length of ribbon at a time. The ends of the lengths are connected to the tree in areas of the tree where tree viewers can't see them. The ribbon should be of the wire variety so that it holds its shape throughout the season and can be manipulated if necessary. Does this Spark an idea?

1
Put on a pair of gloves and a pair of safety glasses.
-
2
Slide the tree out from any close walls so that you can work all the way around it. Grab the inner trunk at the center and a few feet below that to slide it out. Be careful not to poke your eyes with the pine needles or get pine sap on your hands. Remove the safety glasses and gloves.

3
Set up chairs all the way around the tree. Use these to walk around the tree when placing ribbon at the top. If the top of the tree is out of reach when standing on the chairs, then use ladders to start and the chairs after you've moved down to that level.
-
4
Cut several 5-foot sections of wire ribbon off of the ribbon spool using scissors. The wire in the ribbon will allow the ribbon to hold its shape while on the tree and make it easier for you to mold it to the look you want.
-
5
Wrap the end of the first piece of ribbon a couple times around an inner branch at the top of the tree. Attach it in an inconspicuous place behind the main tree's trunk where no one can see it.
-
6
Pull the extending ribbon around the upper branches of the tree in a downward diagonal direction. The ribbon should spiral down around the tree however close or far apart you desire.
-
7
Make a twist in the ribbon every 18 inches and tuck this twist in toward the interior branches of the tree as you work downward. Wrap the end of this first 5-foot section a couple times around an inner branch to hide it from view.
-
8
Grab another piece of ribbon and attach it to the branch where the previous ribbon length ended. Continue this process until you have tucked ribbon around the Christmas tree all the way to the bottom.
