How to Glue Sheets of OSB
OSB stands for oriented strand board. It is a building material similar to plywood. This material replaced the use of other panel types in residential construction, according to the OSB Guide. Reasons for gluing panels of OSB may vary, from installing a protective barrier over an OSB subfloor to attaching an outer layer of plywood to something for a more attractive appearance. Things You'll Need

Instructions

1
Evaluate the size of the area of OSB that you'll be gluing in order to ensure you'll have enough glue.
-
2
Clean the OSB by sweeping and wiping away any sawdust or dirt with a broom and damp cloth. When left behind, this debris can interfere with the adhesion of the two objects you're gluing.
-
-
3
Spread a liberal coat of any type of polyurethane glue across the OSB using a glue roller for adequate coverage.
-
4
Press the object you are attaching to the OSB into place on the glue.
-
5
Spread a plastic or cloth sheet over the glued object and layer cinderblocks or heavy rocks on top. This is necessary because the texture of OSB is a bit rough and the extra weight helps the objects to bond together.
-
6
Let the glue dry according to the time on the label before removing the cinderblocks.
