The Horn Won't Work in My 1998 Chevy Cavalier

If the horn fails to work in your 1998 Chevy Cavalier, then a repair is in order. Repairing a faulty horn means you must remove the old part and replace it with a new, working part. The horn is found under the hood on the driver's side of the car, attached to the other side of the grill. You'll notice a round metal piece held in place by screws and attached to a wire.

Tips & Warnings

  • Check your fuse box before purchasing a new horn. Look for the fuse marked "Horn" on the diagram on the fuse box lid or in your owner's manual. Pull it out, and check the visible metal wire. If it is broken, the fuse is blown and needs to be replaced.
