How to Set Up a Conax With a Dish 1000.2
Satellite providers use satellite receivers to convert a signal from an orbiting satellite into watchable TV programming on your television. Some satellite receivers are "locked" in the sense that customers can only use them with the provider that originally installed the equipment. The provider must recover the equipment upon termination of a service agreement. Often, however, customers can continue to use their satellite receivers with different providers after they terminate service with their original providers. If you possess a Dish Network receiver of any model, you can use it in conjunction with your Conax satellite service.

1
Verify that your Dish 1000.2 receiver is compatible with Conax's service by contacting Conax support at 011-47-22-40-52-00. Conax is based in Norway, so international calling rates may apply. The entire process will be a waste of time if you are using an incompatible receiver.
-
2
Attach the coaxial cable connected to your Conax-installed coaxial cable outlet to the coaxial input on the Dish receiver. Simply screw the coaxial connector on until it is just hand-tight.

3
Inform Conax that you have installed the receiver and wish to use it in conjunction with the company's service. Conax will likely need to send an authorization signal to the receiver before it will be unlocked for use.

Tips & Warnings
Your Dish 1000.2's compatibility with Conax's service depends on whether your satellite provider uses quadrature amplitude modulation, whether your provider's QAM systems use Q boxes inside the home and which optical network unit your provider uses.
