How to Clean Rusty Steel Tire Rims

Original steel rims on older cars are classic and appealing to those specific vehicle owners as they keep the car looking vintage. Over time the dirt, oils, salts and brake dust can make the steel tire rims rusty and old looking. Fully restoring these steel rims will require you to dismount the tire, clean the rim and paint it. But for cleaning purposes only, you can leave the tire on the rim and scrub away the rust with a few supplies.
