How to Clean Odors From Air Vents
Air circulates through household and car vents, causing odors within them to become airborne. These odors can be caused from a wide range of sources, including tobacco, dirt accumulation and mold. Things You'll Need
- Screwdriver
- Cloth
- Toothbrush
- Non-toxic household cleaner
- White vinegar
- Spray bottle
- Car freshener
- Electrical tape

Remove vent covers with a screwdriver.

Use a rag, toothbrush and non-toxic household cleaner to remove as much dirt as you can from the inside of the vent.

Mix ¼ cup of white vinegar with two cups of water. Pour the mixture into a spray bottle, shake it up then spray several times inside each vent.

Place a car freshener inside the opening of the vent and secure it with electrical tape.

Re-attach the vent covers.

Turn up your heat or air conditioning for at least 30 minutes to encourage air circulation.
