Windchaser PACR10 Operating Instructions

Windchaser manufactures fans, heaters, dehumidifiers, air cleaners and similar comfort-control items for home use. The PACR10 is one of the company's portable air conditioners. The unit is also known as the PACR10000, referring to its 10,000 BTU per hour cooling capacity. Before you use your PACR10, you must set up the unit so it vents to the outdoors.

Basic Operation

Step 1

Plug in the unit to a grounded wall outlet. The use of an extension cord is not recommended. Press the "Power" button to turn the machine on.

Step 2

Press the "Function" button to select whether you want to cool or dehumidify. Use the "Temperature Up/Down" buttons to select the temperature you want the room to be. The unit can only be set between 60 and 90 degrees Fahrenheit.

Step 3

Choose the fan speed with the "Speed" button. Options are low, medium, high or auto.

Timer and Sleep Functions

Step 1

Press the "Timer" button when the unit is turned off to select a time you want the unit to turn on. Press the button as many times as the number of hours from the current time you want the unit to come on. For example, if it is noon and you want the unit to come on at 3:00 p.m., press the "Timer" button three times.

Step 2

Press "Timer" button when the unit is turned on to select a time you want the unit to turn off. Press the button as many times as the number of hours from the current time you want the unit to shut off. For example, if it is noon and you want the unit to turn off at 8:00 p.m., press the "Timer" button eight times.

Step 3

Press the "Sleep" button to activate the sleep mode. Then press the "Timer" button as many times as the hours you want the unit to run. For example, six times for six hours. The sleep mode adjusts the temperature each half hour as you sleep.

Using the Remote

Step 1

Remove the back panel of the remote and install two AAA batteries. Replace the cover.

Step 2

Aim the remote directly at the unit. Press the buttons on the remote to operate the unit from a distance up to 26 feet.

Step 3

Remove the batteries if the remote will not be used for more than a week.
