      Divide the area as measured in square yards by 4,840 square yards per acre to change to acres. For example, if you have 19,000 square yards, divide 19,000 by 4,840 to find you have about 3.93 acres.

      Divide the area as measured in square feet by 43,560 square feet per acre to change to acres. For example, if you have 109,000 square feet, divide 109,000 by 43,560 to find you have about 2.5 acres.
