Homemade Soft Contact Solution
Contacts are needed for those who have vision issues such as astigmatisms. Contacts lenses, like eyeglasses, help improve vision. Saline solution is a saltwater-based substance used to clean and disinfect contacts. You can make your own saline solution at home adding salt to distilled water to clean your soft contact lenses. Saline solution can be used to clean hard and soft contacts. Soft contact lenses are made with a plastic polymer material that lets oxygen pass through the lens to your eye.

Tips & Warnings
Distilled water can be made by boiling tap water to kill any bacteria in the water and allowing the distilled water to cool.
Only wear your contacts for the specific amount of time according to your eye doctor and your contact lens instructions. Wearing contacts past their expiration can cause an infection.
Do not rinse your contact with tap water; an infection called Acanthamoeba keratitis, which comes from the Acanthamoeba parasite found in tap water, can damage your eye.
Clean and rinse your contact lens case with saline solution and distilled water before and after each use.
