Sausage stuffers grind and push raw meat into skin casings, to create professional-looking homemade sausages. These machines can also be used to press fruits to make jellies, jams, butters and wines. Instructions

    • 1

Open the main compartment of the sausage stuffer. On some of the older models this requires loosening several screws and pulling it open.

    • 2

Rinse the fruits under some cold water and insert them into the opening of the sausage stuffer.

    • 3

Adjust the size of the pulp opening to suit your desired thickness. If you want a smooth fruit juice, for example, make the opening small, so that the juice is finely filtered. If you wish to make something thicker, such as a jam, make the pulp opening a little wider. Slowly turn the sausage stuffer crank until no more juice comes out of the machine.

Tips & Warnings

  • Experiment with different fruits to create your own flavor smoothies.

  • The remaining fruit pulp can be used as compost.

  • Always ensure the machine is fully cleaned of any raw meat before using -- failure to do so could result in bacteria contamination and food poisoning.
