Ollie going backward - a power move.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderately challenging

Things You’ll Need:

  • Skate Rails
  • Skateboard Decks
  • Skateboard Helmets
  • Skateboard Pads
  • Skateboard Parts
  • Skateboard Trucks
  • Skateboard Wheels
  • Skateboarding Shoes
  • Skateboards
Step1
Remember that a fakie ollie is the same as an ollie. The only difference is the direction you're traveling in when you do the ollie.
Step2
Start rolling backward. Keep your head facing the way you're rolling so you can see where you're going.
Step3
Set your feet up as you would for a normal ollie, with your front foot a little bit further toward the tail to get more power.
Step4
Do the ollie motion, but pop the tail even faster than usual and suck it up faster than usual. Because you're traveling backward, when your tail strikes the ground, it may stop the board from moving, and your momentum will start to send you flying backward. So the faster you pop and suck the board up, the smaller the chance of that happening. You'll probably fall backward a few times while you learn the timing, though.
Step5
Keep your head facing the direction that you're traveling in. This may cause you to turn your board slightly in the air, so watch out for landing crooked.
Step6
Remember that when going up, down or over anything with this trick, you've got a whole board length more to travel (just like a nollie). Go fast and snap the tail hard.

Tips & Warnings

  • Skateboarding is an inherently dangerous activity that can result in serious injury or death. We recommend that you seek proper training and equipment before attempting this activity.

on 2/17/2007 fakie ollies are easy to learn. they're also pretty fun.fakie is like switch nollie.the foot youu usualy keep back you would put it on the nose. while riding fakie, put your weight on the nose in a fast motion.when the nose hits the ground, quickly slide your back foot toward the tail. try stopping it on the hardware.suck your legs up to your body. when the board goes down slam your feet and the board on the ground. roll away with a smirk on your face.later

on 8/8/2006 1. Get up speed (I find it harder to do going slow).
2. Put your front foot on the nose anywhere it feels comfortable. Place your back foot a little more than half way.
3. Pop before you get to the ledge so you don't go off.
4. Slide your back foot like a mad man.
5. Lean you body back toward your tail so you don't fall forward.
6. Push your back foot on the tail once, in the air, to level out.
7. Float with it.
8. Bend knees when you land so you will ride away clean.

on 11/22/2005 Roll up at a comfortable speed. Place your front foot about halfway up the board, facing about one o'clock. Put your toe on the right hand side of the tail (left hand side if you are goofy), and keep your heel off of the board. When you pop, you want to pull as hard as you can with your back foot, while you give a slight flick with your front foot. The board should do all of its spinning and flipping now. When you see the grip tape coming around, try and catch it on the bolts and set it down as smoothly as possible. If you find that the board is staying behind you, try using a different foot position. Always keep your back foot the same. It will take a while to master, but keep practicing and it will come.

on 11/22/2005 It's harder to level out your board for a fakie ollie than it is for a regular ollie. So, slide your foot up more and it helps level it out.
