How to Modify the Radio on a Mazda 5
You can only do a few thing to the stock radio in a Mazda 5, but adding a amplifier is one of the most significant things to do. The stock sound system in this car does not have an amp, and this alone will make the stereo sound a lot better. You can buy everything that you will need at any car audio store. You can install the amp from the comfort of your driveway in less than an hour.

1
Place the amplifier in your car in the location you choose. Make sure that the amp is affixed permanently to the Mazda 5, so that it won't move.
-
2
Cut the speaker wire long enough to reach from the amp to the rear of the radio. Strip insulation from both ends of the wire 1/4 inch at each end.
-
-
3
Insert the speaker wires into the corresponding connections on the amp. Route the wire to the firewall on the passenger side of the Mazda. Pull down on the metal fasteners, and pull the dashboard from the frame.
-
4
Cut the yellow wire with the black line running down the center on the rear of the radio. Connect the remote lead wire to this wire, and secure it using the wire cover caps.
-
5
Insert the power wire leading from the amp to the power connector on the rear of the radio. Affix the dashboard to the frame.
