      Place the Samurai Shark on a flat work surface. Position the sharpener so that it hangs slightly off the edge of the work surface.

      Press the Samurai Shark firmly against the surface with the heel of your non-dominant hand to prevent it from moving while you sharpen.

      Hold the blade you are sharpening with your dominant hand. Press the bottom end of the blade firmly into the sharpener. Pull the blade down while applying consistent pressure and speed.

      Pass the blade through the sharpener three times.
