Setting up hosting for a blog is easy to do, and is one of the crucial steps in positioning yourself to be visible online. What exactly is Web hosting? Simply put it is a service that allows you to make your website accessible via the World Wide Web. There are dozens and dozens of Web hosting companies online, so the key is to compare pricing, bandwidth and disk space. Two of the top Web hosting companies to choose from include Host Gator and GoDaddy.

1
Research several hosting companies to compare the packages, and be certain to pay close attention to bandwidth and disk space. Ideally you want to choose a company and package that has unlimited bandwidth and disk space to ensure that your Website is always visible regardless of how much traffic or visitors you get to your site.

Purchase a domain name from a domain company like GoDaddy. When choosing a domain name keep in mind what purpose your blog will serve, and choose a domain name that goes with that purpose. For example, if you are creating a self-branded blog then your domain name should be your name or should include your name.
