1
Groom your eyebrows. You don't want any stray hairs ruining your cat-eye look, so focus on your eyebrows before doing anything else. You can add a little eyebrow pencil to elongate the brows as well. Well-groomed brows will serve to accentuate your whole cat-eye look.

2
Apply eye shadow base, which helps the shadow last longer. It will also keep your eye shadow from smudging and creasing. Apply base to the entire eyelid as you would with eye shadow. You can either use your finger or a brush to apply the base. Blend it in evenly.

3
Apply eyeliner to the upper eyelid. You can use either a pencil or a liquid eyeliner, whichever is more comfortable for you to work with. Take your time. Start lining at the inner corner, carefully moving toward the outer edge. Extend the liner about a quarter inch past the outer edge of the eye, and flick upward toward the temple to create a winged look.

4
Apply eyeliner to the lower lash line. Start at the middle of the lower eye and make small strokes toward the outer eye. Stay as close to the lower lash line as possible. Use a pencil for the lower eye and fill in gaps if necessary.
-
5
Apply eye shadow as you normally do. Some people prefer a more neutral look with the cat-eye liner. However, to create an even bolder look, you can add dark eye shadow. Apply more eye shadow at the outer edge for added drama. Blend carefully with fingers or a makeup brush.

6
Apply mascara. Use a black mascara, and apply two or three coats. Use a mascara brush to remove any clumps.
