How to Sell Arts and Crafts on eBay
EBay is marketed as "the world's largest online marketplace, where practically anyone can buy and sell practically anything." This popular website allows individuals to open their own eBay stores, where they can set prices, advertise multiple products at once, and sell at fixed prices, or in an auction format. For artists and crafters, eBay can be a useful tool in expanding clientele, making a name and having an outlet to sell items. With a small monthly investment, an eBay store can be up and running in minutes.

1
Devise a plan. Make notes of all arts and crafts to be sold, determine their pricing and decide if your sales goals are short-term or long-term. Decide if you want to sell only a few items, to test the marketplace, or place multiple items up for sale. Use eBay's Fee Illustrator tool, listed under "eBay Stores," and "Is An eBay Store Right for You?" If you wish to test to see how well your arts and crafts sell on eBay, place only one or two items up for sale. Go to the eBay website, select "Sell," and "Sell an Item." Follow the prompts to register for the website and to list each item individually.

Build your eBay store. Visit eBay, select "Sell" then select "eBay Stores." Review the options for subscribing to the service, and select the price and features that best suit your needs. Follow the prompts to use eBay's store-builder tool to design your store and to list your items. Take photos of all items, and include them with your listings. Items with photos generally sell more easily than items not pictured.

Promote your eBay store. Purchase an ad in an arts and crafts trade publication, or your local newspaper, or create business cards to pass out to people you meet each day. Attend arts and crafts shows to pass out flyers, business cards or samples notifying people of your eBay store. Visit on-line arts and crafts forums or chat rooms to network. You can also sign up for marketing services when you subscribe to an eBay store.
