How to Remove the Top of a Chevy Malibu Gear Shift

You may want to remove the top portion of your Chevy Malibu's gear shift lever, also known as the shifter handle, to replace it with one you like better. • Pocket knife

Instructions

1. Select a comfortable workspace. Put the vehicle into park and apply the parking brake.

2. Locate the small clip inside the shifter handle. Remove this square clip by prying it off with a pocket knife.

3. Remove the shifter handle.
