How To Tighten Clamps
Clamps are used in numerous applications: to secure hoses to pump stems, to secure components together temporarily while an adhesive sets, and more. Many clamps, such as spring clamps, have a single tightness setting that is engaged with a locking mechanism. Some clamps, such as bar clamps and hose clamps, feature multiple tightness settings. This feature is simple to use.
Instructions
-
Bar Clamp
-
1
Insert the component or device you wish to clamp down on between the pads of the bar clamp.

2
Loosen the butterfly nut on the drive bar of the bar clamp to change the position of the bar.
-

3
Turn the bar at its handle clockwise to tighten the movable pad against the device or component to clamp it down between the two pads. Tighten the butterfly to secure the tightness position.
Hose Clamp

4
Slide the hose clamp around the hose, pipe, or cable you wish to attach to an overlapping joint element.
