How to Mount a Scope on a Older Sheridan Air Rifle
Adding a scope to your Sheridan air rifle will help improve the accuracy of your shot. Whether you are using the air rifle outdoors or for target shooting, a scope will allow you to improve your marksmanship. Installing a scope on an older, Sheridan air rifle can be accomplished at home with a few basic tools.

Cradle the Sheridan air rifle in a towel, and place the gun in a vice. Tighten the vice until the gun is firmly in place. Do not completely wrap the gun in the towel; this would prevent access to the top of the barrel.

Clean out the pre-drilled holes on the top of the rifle barrel; use a can of compressed air. You may need to re-drill these holes to make them usable.

Attaching the scope's base to the rifle barrel. Use the screws included with the scope.

Attach the bottom scope-rings to the base; use the enclosed alignment tool to ensure the rings are in the proper position. Tighten the screws to secure them in position.

Place the scope in the rings. Secure the scope in place by positioning the top portion of the rings and tightening them in place.
