How to Convert a Quart to Metric

Using simple math, you can easily convert quarts to liters.

The metric system is the international system of measurement adopted by nearly every country except the United States, Liberia and Myanmar (Burma). Because of its vast usage, you may frequently find foods or even cookbooks that are in metric measurements. It's important to know how to convert the imperial system to the metric system to avoid ruining your dinner or dessert. Converting quarts to liters is one of the more simple conversions that doesn't even require the help of a calculator.

Instructions

1. Write down how many quarts you have or need to have. For this example, let's say you have 4 quarts that you need to convert into liters.

2. Set up your equation: quart x 0.95 = liter

   This means there are 0.95 liters for every 1 quart.

3. Fill in your quarts in the equation: 4 x 0.95 = liter

4. Multiple 4 times 0.95 to convert your quarts into liters: 4 x 0.95 = 3.8 liters.
