How to Turn on a Magic Chef Oven After Self-Cleaning

Oven self-cleaning cycles lock the oven door and heat the oven to very high temperatures. These high temperatures burn the food residue in the oven and turn it to ash, which is easier to remove than caked on and sticky particles of food. Some Magic Chef ovens have a self-cleaning option. Use it properly and finish the cycle completely before turning the oven on. Does this Spark an idea?

Instructions

    • 1

Wait for the Magic Chef's self-cleaning cycle to end. Some cycles could take up to four hours and 30 minutes to complete. You are not able to cancel the cycle during this time or open the oven door, unless you unplug the oven. The self-cleaning cycle ends when the ''Clean'' image is not illuminated on the display screen.

Wait for the oven to cool off. The oven door does not unlock until the oven is cool enough for you to open it. This is done to prevent children from severe burns. The oven indicates that the door is not locked when the ''Door Locked'' image is no longer illuminated in the display screen.

    • 3

Open the door and remove all of the ash from inside the oven with a brush and a dustpan.

    • 4

Wipe down the walls on the inside of the oven with a damp cloth to remove the ash residue.

    • 5

Replace the Magic Chef's oven racks and turn on the oven by pressing the ''Bake'' button, adjusting the oven temperature and pressing the ''Start'' button.
