As of December 2010 a Disabled Veteran license plate costs $15 and you can get it with help from the designated license plate coordinator.

      Call the New Jersey Motor Vehicle Commission at 609-292-6500 ext. 5061 or toll free at 888-486-3339, ext. 5061 and request the contact information for the license plate coordinator assigned to disabled veterans and also request for an application for a Disabled American Veterans license plate.

      Contact the license plate coordinator and request that she approves you to receive a Disabled Veteran license plate. The license plate coordinator will contact you when you have been approved or disapproved for a Disabled Veteran license plate.
