How to Put a Tool Box in a Tacoma
A toolbox is a common accessory that most people add when they have a truck. A toolbox allows users to store tools and other things in an organized manner in the bed of the truck without having to worry about them flying all around the bed of the truck while driving or being stolen when not driving. There are usually instructions that come with a toolbox but if you purchased a used toolbox or just simply want other instructions, a toolbox can be installed in your Tacoma in a few simple steps.
Things You'll Need
- Toolbox
- 2 pieces of foam tape
- Electric drill
- 2 J-bolts
- 2 flat washers
- 2 lock washers
- 2 hex nuts
- Wrench
- 2 vinyl caps

Turn your toolbox upside down so the lid is on the ground.

Insert your J-bolt from the underside of the toolbox into the hole that you just drilled. Be sure to hook the "J" part of the bolt under the rail of your truck bed. The rail has a lip on it to keep the J-bolt from sliding around.

7
Put the hex nut on the J-bolt from the inside of the toolbox and tighten it down onto the lock washer with your wrench.
-
8
Place the vinyl cap onto the top of the J-bolt to cover the threads.
