According to Princeton University, euros are the current monetary unit for 12 European nations, including Portugal, Belgium, Luxembourg, Finland, Austria and Germany. If you live in one of these countries and want to do business with India, you will need to exchange your currency. Euros are represented by the letters EUR and rupees are represented by the letters INR.

Instructions

1. Look up the current exchange rate for euros to rupees. The online website XE, among others, has this information. You should see something like 1 EUR = 60 INR.

2. List the amount of money you need to make your trip or purchase the item you are interested in in your notepad.

3. Determine how much money you need to exchange. For example, if you have 200 euros you want to convert to rupees, you would multiply 200 by 60 for a total of 12,000 rupees. If you need 12,000 rupees to make your purchase, you divide 12,000 by 60 to get the 200 euros you need to convert.

4. Exchange your currency at any major airport that has a currency exchange counter. You also have the option of using your credit or debit card at any of India's ATM machines to withdraw rupees .
