How to Stop Chkdsk on Start-up
Chkdsk (also called "Check Disk") is a Windows utility tool that automatically scans and fixes errors on the "C" hard drive. It will run on start-up if it detects system errors. Many people dislike having to wait for the Chkdsk utility to scan their computers because the process can be lengthy. There is a way to stop Chkdsk on start-up so that you will not have to wait for your PC hard drive to load.

Click the "Start" button.

Click "Start Search" and type "cmd." Press "Enter" to launch the Command Prompt utility, which is a blank, black window.

Type "chkntfs /x c:" into the Command Prompt if "c" is the letter of your hard drive. Press "Enter." This command tells the PC to cancel Chkdsk upon start-up.

Restart your computer.

Tips & Warnings
If you refuse to let Chkdsk fix your PC errors, your computer might accumulate errors over time.
