    • 2

Swing out the filter basket and insert a new paper filter, size four, into the basket. Ensure the seam points toward the base of the holder. Fill the filter with one level measuring spoon of ground coffee per cup of brewed coffee. Swing the filter door closed.

    • 3

Set the coffee carafe under the coffee dispenser with the lid closed and turn the selector knob to "On." The indicator light will illuminate to indicate that brewing has begun. Turn the selector knob to "Off" when brewing is complete.

    Espresso

    • 4

Swing open the filter door and place a new filter in the holder to begin brewing espresso. Fill the filter with ground espresso, filling to the mark on the filter basket for two or four cups of espresso. Lightly tamp the espresso, then close the filter door.

    • 5

Open the lid on the machine and turn the boiler cap counter-clockwise to remove. Fill the boiler container with cold water to the fill line on the carafe. Add additional water to the steam fill line for milk frothing, if desired.

    • 6

Turn the boiler cap clockwise to secure and set the carafe under the filter holder. Turn the side knob to "Espresso" and turn the selector knob to "Espresso On." Wait for the complete brewing cycle to finish before unscrewing the boiler cap.

    • 7

Pour 4 to 6 oz. cold milk into a small container that will fit under the cappuccino nozzle if milk is desired. Place the tip of the steam nozzle into the milk pitcher and turn the steam release knob counter-clockwise to emit steam. Tilt the pitcher slightly and gently raise and lower it slightly while the milk froths. Turn the steam release knob clockwise to turn off the steam when milk is at the desired consistency.
