How to Change Employee Motivation
Change your employees' motivation level by offering more than monetary rewards. Since not all employees are motivated by money, offering other incentives or praises can significantly boost employee motivation, morale and productivity.

1
Acknowledge achievements and good work. Simply recognizing the accomplishments of employees in front of their peers can increase their motivation. Sometimes employees are only searching for recognition and praise for a job well done by upper management.
-
2
Establish regular meetings with each employee. Usually management only meets with individuals for evaluations or negative news; however, creating regular meetings to discuss the employee's goals and career objectives can increase motivation. Find out what the employee hopes to accomplish, and create a plan for the employee to follow to reach his goals.

3
Provide challenges and delegate work. Especially if the employee's schedule consists mostly of repetitive work, providing challenges and delegating more of your tasks can help increase her motivation. It is difficult for employees to be motivated when their current work is boring and uninteresting, so spice up their workload.
-
4
Give clear instructions and expectations. Employees tend to lose motivation when they are unsure of what is expected from them, don't know how to accomplish an assignment or are unsure of what to do.
-
5
Allow employees to go through additional training. Sometimes when an organization shuffles employees or workloads, especially after downsizing, it does not provide proper training for employees' new responsibilities. Make sure workers have sufficient formal training to handle all their responsibilities, understand what their responsibilities are, have updated knowledge of processes and have the resources available to do their jobs efficiently.
