How to Watch Telenovelas on TV

Telenovelas are romantic dramas about individuals who must overcome various obstacles to obtain what they want. Unlike American soap operas, which can run for decades without a conclusion, telenovelas have a climactic close. According to the Museum of Broadcast Communications, the shows typically consist of 180 to 200 episodes over six months or so. The stations air an episode six days a week. Telenovelas originated in Latin America and are popular with Spanish-language audiences worldwide. In the United States, a growing English-speaking audience also tunes in to watch these shows.

Other networks, like Azteca America, import their shows from Latin America.
