Instructions

    • 1

Spray a moderate amount of furniture polish onto a clean cloth (the softer the cloth, the better). Rub the cloth with the furniture polish over the scratched surface of your CD. As you rub the surface of the CD, the furniture polish fills in the scratches. Newly polished, the CD is easier for a CD player to read. If you still experience skips during playback, move on to step 2 or 3.

Squirt toothpaste onto another clean cloth. Apply pressure and rub the toothpaste into the scratches on the surface of your CD. As you rub the scratches, the grainy texture of the toothpaste slowly wears the scratches away. After the scratches are gone, pour rubbing alcohol onto a clean cloth and wipe the surface of the CD to remove any remaining residue. Allow the CD to dry before testing it.

Squirt Brasso onto another clean cloth. Apply pressure and rub the Brasso into the scratches on the surface of your CD. As you rub the scratches, the fine texture of the Brasso slowly wears the scratches away (much like with the toothpaste). Add more Brasso to the cloth while rubbing if necessary. After the scratches are gone, pour rubbing alcohol onto a clean cloth and wipe the surface of the CD to remove any remaining residue. Allow the CD to dry before testing it.
