How to Dry Clean Drapery
Rayon and other fabrics used for heavy drapes are often "dry-clean only" because of their tendency to shrink or fade. This doesn't mean you have to run to the dry cleaner's every time your drapes collect dirt, dust and pet hair. Clean and freshen them at home with a few common household items. Spray any spots or stains on your drapes with a dry-cleaning upholstery spray and allow it to sit for the amount of time recommended by the manufacturer, usually five minutes.

Wipe the drapes with a clean white cloth.

Toss the drapes into the dryer with a fabric softener sheet. Dry it on a "no-heat" setting for 10 minutes to freshen the fabric and remove any dirt, dust or pet hair.

Remove the drapes from the dryer and shake them out before hanging them back up.

Tips & Warnings
Remove pet hair with tape wrapped around your hand between cleanings.
