How to Clean a Pakistani Rug
Pakistani rugs are hand or machine woven rugs made from cotton and wool fibers combined to form intricate patterns. The Pakistani rug was created in 1526 and the process has evolved ever since. Things You'll Need
- Vacuum
- Wool carpet stain remover
- Rag
- Towel
- Garden hose
- Bucket
- Wool-safe detergent
- Squeegee
- Sprayer nozzle

Vacuum the rug thoroughly. If there is any visible debris that did not get removed by the vacuum, manually pick it off of the rug.

Apply a wool carpet stain remover to a moist rag and spot clean any visible spots or stains. Place a towel under the rug during spot cleaning to catch the stain particles and the residual detergent.

Move the rug to your pre-cleaned driveway and lay it flat.

Soak the rug with water using a garden hose.

Fill a bucket with water and the manufacturer's recommended amount of wool-safe detergent.

Pour the mixture onto the rug and agitate the rug with a squeegee.

Rinse the suds out of the rug with a pressure sprayer nozzle on the hose.

Cover the rug in towels and roll it upon itself to remove the extra water.

Lay the rug out flat in a warm place to dry. Avoid direct sunlight, as it will bleach the rug.
